When the Mindset Coach has her mindset tested
(Reading time: 6 min) The Calamity If you could come up with a solid mindset test for me the following scenario would be it. Winter times are somewhat nippy when you live at the foot of Yr Wyddfa aka Snowdon. So there I was, adjusting my heated blanket just moments before joining an online networking meeting, when I brilliantly managed to catch the lead of my stand-up lamp and launch it not only into my head but also directly onto the screen of my perfect TV. My perfect TV screen that now has not one but two inch-long scratches on it. Now if you know anything about me, you will know that I am not a materialistic kind of girl. However, one of the things that I unapologetically am is a huge film and TV fan. So my television is a pretty decent one and large in size as that quality of watching is all part of the experience for me and for the screen not to have any distracting marks on it is another big part of…

It’s my 7 year health transformationversary!
And so a VERY HAPPY 7 year health transformationversary to me! 🎈🥳 After 24 years of being chronically ill with ME and Fibromyalgia I am today… 7 magnificent years healthy and FULLY living my life! 😍 …and THIS is the legend responsible ⤵️ 🙌🏻 This is Dr. Phil Parker, PhD and he is the fella with the brilliant brain who designed the Lightning Process back in the 1990s. The LP has since enabled circa 25,000 humans from all around the world (including me!) to transform whatever it was that was keeping them stuck into whatever it is they needed instead to move them forward ➜➜➜ The Lightning Process technique enables you to harness the power of your brain and your neurology (via NLP!) so that you can switch of the ‘flight or flight’ response loop that causes inflammation in the body that in turn can lead to ‘burn out’ and that inevitable diagnosis of chronic mental and physical health conditions. Whether a chronic illness or a mental health struggle the Lightning Process has been there and sorted…

🎙️🎥 A Conversation On… Resilience Vs Adversity
In the latest episode of ‘A Conversation On’, Vipan Maini (www.xtraclarity.com) and I talk on the subject of adversity and how when you connect with your inner resilience you can learn and grow from the tough times that life often throws our way. We also talk about the experience of depression and how to navigate through those dark times back towards the light. Vipan and I both share our personal stories of some of the toughest times that we’ve experienced throughout our lives and how we found our way through those deeply dark and challenging times and learned many important and powerful life lessons along the way. We also throw in some self-coaching techniques to help you find your way through those tough times back to your stronger self so that you can live the life you most desire and deserve. Vipan speaks from experience and from his heart. Literally. In his early 40s, he experienced two heart attacks which turned his world upside down. He’s also had major back surgery, suffered opioid addiction…

🎙️🎥 #2 Harnessing the POWER of language – NYC Radio Show
Earlier this year, I was invited by Frank R. Harrison and his co-host Phyllis Quinlan, to be their guest on the TalkRadioNYC ‘Frank About Health’ radio show. (Yep that’s right… New York City! Sadly, on Zoom rather than in person but still!) The show went so well that I was invited to return for a second conversation with Frank in November 22. In this conversation, I explain how the inner dialogue we have with ourselves can be incredibly impactful and we discuss how it is therefore, important that we learn how to observe our inner narrative so that we can ensure we are using positive language instead of negative. This gives our brain a healthy structure of thinking so that we can move forward throughout our life with positivity, passion and purpose. We will also be talking about how using active language also enables us to communicate more effectively with others. This inevitably will also lead to the creation of healthy relationships and clear boundaries with those around us. I also share mindset techniques that will enable…

🎙️🎥 #1 Harnessing the POWER of language – NYC Radio Show
In April 22, I was invited by Frank Harrison and his co-host Phyllis Quinlan to be their guest on the TalkRadioNYC ‘Frank About Health’ radio show. (Yep, that’s right… New York City! Sadly, on Zoom rather than in person but still!) In this episode, I tell my ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia recovery story – ‘from wheelchair to rock climbing to coaching!’. We of course, talk about NLP, what it is and what it’s all about and how it can enable us to create a powerful road map for our brain. When we harness our mindset in this way we can move forward in our lives with passion and purpose and truly live the life we so desire. We also talk about the power of language – one of my most very favourite things to talk about! How impacting it can be when we speak to others and they to us but above all, how impacting on us our own internal language can be and therefore, how important it is to become aware of it so that we can harness…

🎙️🎥 A Conversation On: Social Media Anxiety
When I first met Rebecca, she was a photographer in her mind but not in her reality. She was stuck in a negative state of social media anxiety that was blocking both her creative and productive processes. In this conversation, we talk about our time working together and the journey that I took Rebecca on so that she could create powerful state shifts for herself and her photography career. Essentially, she went from her primary focus being the need for constant social media interaction and her fear being that she wouldn’t succeed if she wasn’t constantly interacting (which she was doing to the extent that she wasn’t out and about taking photographs!) …to making the mighty leap of deleting all of her social media apps for one month and ONLY taking photographs in that time. At the end of that month, the result was a new photography project that was edited and ready to post on her brand new photography Instagram account that she was incredibly excited about and a renewed passion for taking photographs and the editing process.…

🎙️🎥 A Conversation On: Healing from Grief and Loss w/ Mark Ashton
In this episode of ‘A Conversation On’, Mark and I talk on the subject of loss in its many shapes and forms and how it can be both a positive and a negative experience. And how the loss of the old is necessary to make space for the new. Mark and I both share personal stories of loss and grief experienced throughout our lives and how we found our way through those deeply dark and challenging times and learned many important and powerful life lessons along the way. We also throw in some self-coaching techniques for good measure! Mark is a somewhat reluctant contrarian/heretic in business, now entering the 5th decade of his career. His passion, enthusiasm and determination to tell the truth, even when it’s awkward or risky, is largely undiminished though tempered by experience. He still believes the best is yet to come and was thrilled to discover 10-12 years ago that research proves the most enduringly successful companies have a compelling purpose beyond profit. Mark has built an international community of what…

The Minimaliser Mindset
what is: the minimaliser mindset MINIMALIST [noun]: a person who advocates or practises minimalism MINDSET [noun]: the established set of attitudes held by someone The Minimaliser Mindset is simply one of lessening. Whether it’s the lessening of the chaotic home clutter or the monkey mind chatter, we can choose to apply a mindful + minimalist approach in our thinking, our reactions and our actions. When we do this, we create that quiet space within us and from there, we are able to see ourselves and the world around us more clearly. This, in turn, enables us to make decisions that will propel us forward in ways we never previously imagined possible.

Reconnection within the Workplace
The modern workplace can often be a noisy and chaotic space within which we find ourselves existing for a large portion of our working week. And with the current virtual office extension that is ‘back to back’ Zoom meetings, it is now more than ever, all too easy to become disconnected from those around us to protect our ability to carry out our own work. Focus shifts from ‘organisation’ and ‘team’ to ‘individual’ and while this might make us feel like we are achieving, we are also likely to be missing out on an important connection. That of our connection with our colleagues. In 2019, the Office for National Statistics (ONS), reported that 12.4% of the UK population worked from home at some point during their working week. In 2020, that figure doubled to 25.9% – or 8.4 million people. Whilst many will welcome the option to work from home there will undoubtedly be a large proportion of that figure who will find it to be a lonely and disconnected scenario. Therefore, reconnection is now more important than ever.…

Putting Our Past Back In Our Past
‘The past is never where you think you left it.’ ― Katherine Anne Porter I have a question for you.Who’s the boss of you? My answer to this question is always, without hesitation, Bruce ‘The Boss’ Springsteen. But back on planet Earth, my answer to this question will often be in debate. One recent evening I was cleaning my teeth and as I was standing there brushing away, I realised that my stomach was churning with anxiety. On investigating the trigger of this feeling, I quickly realised that it wasn’t being caused by a current struggle in my life but instead simply a voice in my head that was from a time in my distant past. As the anxiety stirred away deep within, it occurred to me how bizarre it is that a voice such a long way from me now in time and location could still be having such a strong and negative effect on my body. The human truth is…When we come out the other side of difficult times in our life we are left with a plethora…
